Property Manager, Michael Guy, discusses the importance of working with developers and landscape contractors to build beautiful surroundings as Kidbrooke Village scoops two Gold Awards for London in Bloom.
London in Bloom is all about making areas safer, cleaner and greener. Kidbrooke Village, our development by Berkeley Group in Greenwich, is surrounded by 35 hectares of parkland and open space so the awards were a great opportunity to show off what it had to offer and our hard work maintaining the grounds with our landscaping contractor, Scotscape.
The annual competition offers recognition to all registered participants and ensures that initiatives make a ‘positive impact on local people and the environment.’ It’s also not all about hanging baskets and park bedding displays but other contributions that make quality of life in the capital greener.
Kidbrooke Village won two Gold Awards this year, which is a testament to the efforts of our Estate Management Team and Scotscape. The awards were won in the Parks and Open Spaces and Business Landscape categories.
The London in Bloom judges have ‘highly praised’ the fact that the development was free of litter, graffiti, and vandalism and recognised that the maintenance of the natural features, wildlife ponds and sports areas were to a very high standard.
The judges said: “The standard of maintenance is very good with a permanent team on site… the street furniture and notice boards were well maintained and Scotscape have a residential gardener who maintains the high-profile areas…. This is an ongoing development and Scotscape are to be applauded on the very high standards they achieve.”
