We were delighted to be named as a leader in people management practice globally, having won the Excellence in Social Responsibility category (for a company with more than 500 employees), at the annual Investors in People Awards last week.
The awards celebrate the best people management practices amongst Investors in People accredited businesses and we were among winners at the awards ceremony and dinner at Old Billingsgate, London, on Thursday 23rd November.
We have worked with Investors in People to power our founding values of integrity, quality, professionalism, trust and responsibility into our people management strategy.
Judges felt that ‘beyond internal strategy, we had a clear understanding of social responsibility.’ From our collaboration with Delphis Eco and LaundryRepublic for Recycling Week, to our returnship schemes for new parents, it is clear that employees are both central to and ambassadors of Rendall & Rittner’s social conscience.
We are thrilled to have been recognised by the great work carried out by our staff, who make a valuable contribution to the community and embrace diversity. By ensuring that we put in place robust and responsible practices, a strong leadership team and comprehensive training we have built an inclusive culture with strong staff engagement.
Our core values are underpinned by high levels of customer care and service, focusing on delivering best practice by developing not only green initiatives, but also through community engagement activities and partnership arrangements. It is this culture driven from the top down that allows us to nurture our teams for excellence.
At Rendall & Rittner, we are passionate about our people, and know that they are the reason for our success. We achieved our first IIP award in 2006 with Bronze in 2010 and Gold in 2012. Since then we undertake voluntary rolling reviews, judged by our Internal IIP Assessment Team and our IIP Advisor. Retaining the Gold award in 2015 was a fantastic recognition of this. We since have implemented in 2016 employee Pulse Surveys on a quarterly basis as part of this commitment to continuous improvement and seeking excellence in everything we do
Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said: “This year’s Investors in People Awards were the biggest and best to date. It was fantastic to see so many worthy organisations nominated for outperforming in their sector, demonstrating great people management practice and a commitment to staff development. Congratulations to Rendall and Rittner.”
