Rendall & Rittner’s Area Director in Milton Keynes, Jo Biles, visited Bentley Priory in Stanmore to work for a day as an Estate Operative. Read on for Jo’s Back to the Floor experience.
Bentley Priory is an award-winning development set on a former RAF site, in 57 acres of restored parkland. All of this space makes the Rendall & Rittner job even more important – there’s lots to keep up with, whilst maintaining a community feel for residents.
I spent the day jet washing and cleaning external areas; residents were able to see their estate team working hard and keeping standards up across every part of the development. It was good to get to know the new Estate Operative, Ajith, and show him that we are willing to get stuck in. It was also a brilliant way to get a feel for the site, and I enjoyed the opportunity to get to know some of the residents. The role was demanding, as there was always something that needed our attention, - but also very interactive, and gave me the chance to build relationships with the people that live at Bentley Priory.
Spending a day handling a jet-washer not only showed me just how hard Ajith works to maintain the site, but also how crucial it is to communicate with staff and interact with the residents. Staff morale was excellent, and the in-depth inductions and feedback models showed me that everyone cared about how the staff felt, and this happiness could be then seen in their approach to residents. I would like to extend my gratitude to the team at Bentley Priory for being so welcoming on the day.
