For the latest instalment in our 60 second blog series we sat down with our brand-new Head of Legal, Azmon Rankohi.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Lots of coffee!
What do you like most about your job?
I love that its varied, no day is ever the same and it gives me a chance to apply my skills to new challenges. I also enjoy having an input into helping to steer the company.
What challenges do you face?
One of the biggest ones is the competing demand for legal assistance; while it’s quite easy to deal with the quick wins I need to have in mind what’s best for the company overall. Additionally, the changing regulatory landscape has its own challenges and that can be tricky at times but also extremely rewarding.
What made you pursue this career?
Watching a film called ‘My Cousin Vinny’ which is about a small-time lawyer who makes clever arguments that win the day. It obviously made an impression on my young brain and influenced my decision to go into law.
What are you most proud of?
My current role. I have worked hard to progress in my career and have aspired to become Head of Legal for quite some time. To be appointed to this role for a prestigious company such as Rendall & Rittner has made me quite proud.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love good food and try to offset that by doing a bit of cycling and walking. A few weeks ago, I did the Prudential Ride London, raising money for the charity Bliss which ensures that babies born prematurely are provided with the best neonatal care.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
I’m going on a rare long-haul holiday to Japan for two weeks later this year, in part for the Rugby World Cup, but also for some sightseeing. Japan has been on my bucket list for quite some time.
