Inspiring, empowering and exciting: these are just a handful of words to describe Victoria Whitelaw’s journey in the property management sector.
Victoria Whitelaw has been appointed Northern Ambassador by Doyenne, the organisation that is dedicated to supporting women entrepreneurs in the leasehold sector. Victoria, now a Property Team Manager at Rendall & Rittner, started her journey in residential block management when she took on an administration role in 2010. In this position she was heavily influenced by a female role model and Property Manager, who inspired and trained Victoria to become a Property Manager herself. Her hard work didn’t go unrecognised, as she was honoured with the coveted ‘Young Property Manager of the Year’ award at the 2013 News on the Block awards.
Fast forward to almost a decade later, with a strong passion for block management and women’s empowerment, Victoria is tremendously proud to work for one of the UK’s largest and most well-respected managing agents, a company whose head office includes 61% female staff. As a Property Team Manager, Victoria is among the 54% of females in similar roles within Rendall and Rittner.
“I have been a member of Doyenne for quite some time and have so much respect for all the work they do in the industry to promote women in leasehold. I am looking forward to holding my first event as Northern Ambassador which will kick start the process of connecting women across the North West”. – Victoria comments.
Demonstrating her ability and with Rendall and Rittner’s support, Victoria has achieved MIRPM and AssocRICS status. What’s more, she is currently undertaking the build to rent professional qualification, offered by the IRPM. Victoria’s passion has led her to encourage women into the sector, having been a big advocate of the Apprenticeship programme now offered in conjunction with the IRPM.
Her experience and progression at Rendall and Rittner make Victoria a natural ambassador for Doyenne. She comments: “I feel extremely honoured to be a part of Doyenne and my role as northern ambassador wouldn't be possible without the support of Rendall and Rittner. The internal mentoring, guidance and training that is available within R&R has allowed my confidence to grow both professionally and as a person so that I can take on the role as Northern ambassador.”
As a Doyenne Ambassador, Victoria will be responsible for holding annual events in the Northern region as well as contributing to the annual Doyenne event in London. Find out more about the networking group and their upcoming events: https://doyenneinproperty.co.uk/
