During my 'Back to the floor' excursion, I was delighted to experience a day at the Aberfeldy Village residential development. I spent my time working with the concierge team and was educated on the day-to-day tasks of a group that worked very well together.
I saw first-hand what challenges the concierge team tackle, and learning about their daily routine was an informative and enjoyable experience. Teamwork was key in ensuring efficient operations, and the chance to liaise with the wider team further cemented my early impressions of how well everyone worked together. I learnt how to log parcels and found it hugely rewarding to interact with those members of staff who had worked their way up through the ranks.
I was also impressed by the health & safety precautions in place to combat the spread of Covid and was pleased to see good morale amongst all involved. I believe this stems from good estate management and witnessed the estate manager working confidently and coherently with their staff in several moments of very impressive teamwork to quickly progress urgent estate matters.
I was pleased to witness staff using their individual strengths to benefit the rest of the team, and the understanding of how their actions could benefit others was an inspiring sight to see. Initiative, communication and job satisfaction were evident throughout my time at Aberfeldy Village, and I left with a great sense of pride. I have always acknowledged the hard work of our employees, and spending time with the team made me appreciate the crucial role they play even more.
