At Rendall & Rittner, health and safety is at the centre of everything we do. A large proportion of our sites are subject to an internal audit, and performance is regularly assessed to keep on top of best practice. To add to this, we recently decided to recognise the best performing sites by presenting an award in recognition of achieving excellence. This year’s winners were Chelsea Bridge Wharf, Royal Arsenal Riverside, and Ebury Square as these sites all secured a platinum accreditation during their internal audit.
To provide a detailed assessment of our health and safety standards, our Health and Safety team conduct regular audits of developments across our portfolio. At these visits an audit is carried out against key areas of health and safety across nine key areas ranging from water management and fire & evacuation, and training and reporting. Depending on the size and complexity of the development, these audits can take anywhere from half a day to a day. The audits take place with the site teams who must evidence compliance with our ISO 45001 accredited system for at least the last 12 months. These audits are also supplemented by frequent director and senior leadership team inspections.
A grading system from bronze to platinum is awarded depending on the value scored, with only those sites achieving 95% or above securing platinum accreditation. The awards have recently been presented to the relevant teams by a member of our board, highlighting the importance placed on delivering excellent health and safety.
Speaking about the awards, Richard Daver, Managing Director at Rendall & Rittner commented: “With health and safety a key part of what we do, we have conducted regular audits across our sites for many years now. To receive a platinum accreditation, sites must achieve 95% or above, which is an achievement worth celebrating. I would like to congratulate our teams for the hard work and commitment they have demonstrated to work towards keeping everyone safe on site.”
