On Friday 16th June, we had an incredible evening attending the ARMA Ace Awards dinner in Old Billingsgate, London! As well as spending the night alongside a range of other industry-leading developers, managing agents, and suppliers, we were delighted to receive the first ever Environmental & Sustainability Impact Award in recognition of our commitment to reducing the environmental impact of our work.
Rendall & Rittner has benefitted from ARMA membership for more than 20 years and we understand the importance of working collaboratively through such professional bodies with others across the industry. With ARMA bringing together dedicated property management professionals to set the standard for residential block management, it is a great achievement to be presented with the Environmental & Sustainability Impact Award, showcasing how our robust ESG strategy is industry leading.
Our sustainability strategy is designed to support client commitments whilst also delivering savings for residents. Our solutions are created to work in the long-term, whilst still allowing the flexibility to evolve and expand, and cover everything from the developments we manage and the local communities we work with, to the way we work and the management of our offices.
Some examples of our sustainable initiatives include:
- Ecotricity supplies 100% renewable energy to developments across our portfolio, saving 20,982 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent in 2022.
- Through our e-communications initiative, we are reducing paper consumption by 625,000 sheets per year. For each new sign-up to our e-communications, we are also donating £1 to our Tree Pledge, which has so far enabled over 2,570 new trees to be planted.
- Flexible and agile working in recent years has reduced the daily commutes made by our non-property management employees by around 90%.
- In 2022, our volunteers participated in 11 days of litter picking across the country, which included partnerships with the London Wildlife Trust and Thames21.
- 131,000 kilograms of unwanted clothes were donated last year by residents to White Rose raising around £200,149.
Catherine Riva, CEO of Rendall and Rittner Ltd comments: “At Rendall & Rittner we understand the importance of minimising the impact of our operations on the environment.
