At Rendall & Rittner, the incredible work of charities is something that we support as much as we possibly can. We are continuously fundraising for both Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Stroke Association to aid their respective causes. Every three years, we also ask our people to select a new employee-chosen charity. Following the closure of our recent nominations, we are proud to announce that we will also be supporting the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association.
At any given time, there are around 5,000 adults with MND in the UK, with six people diagnosed every day[1]. MND affects the brain and spinal cord, rapidly progressing so that people are left unable to move, speak and eventually breathe. Any money that we raise will help the MND Association take steps towards achieving its vision - of a world free from MND.
The MND Association allocates funding to research projects that will help improve our understanding of MND, as well as those seeking to identify potential new treatments. In 2023, £4.7 million was awarded to new research grants, seeing the charity’s total research portfolio top almost £21 million[2].
As well as funding research, the Association strives to improve access to care and campaigns for those affected by MND. Financial support and equipment loans can be offered to help improve the quality of life for those diagnosed with MND. Support can also be offered via an online forum, MND Connect helpline and Association-funded MND Care Centres and Networks, as well as the extensive resources on the charity’s website for those living with MND, their carers, families, friends and communities.
Catherine Riva, CEO of Rendall & Rittner Limited comments: “Charity has always been very important to us at Rendall & Rittner. Through our employee-chosen charity, we can support those causes that are most important to our people. The MND Association does incredible work to enhance the lives of those with MND and we are proud to be raising funds to help the charity progress towards its goal of an MND-free world.”
Throughout the next three years, we will be sharing updates on our fundraising efforts for the MND Association. To keep up-to-date with our fundraising news, follow us on LinkedIn.
