We are pleased to have recently secured a Five Star award from the British Safety Council, as well as having maintained our ISO 45001 accreditation. This marks the fifth consecutive year that we have obtained the British Safety Council’s highest accreditation for health and safety standards.
Providing the most comprehensive, quantified, and robust evaluation of a company’s occupational health and safety policies, processes, and practices, the British Safety Council audit process included documentation review, interviews with our senior management, employees, and other key stakeholders, together with sampling of operational activities.
Our performance was measured against almost sixty key safety management indicators, with the coveted five star rating only awarded to those scoring 92% or above. Assessed simultaneously, we have also been recommended for continued ISO 45001 accreditation, the international standard for occupational health and safety management. Through both accreditations, we have demonstrated a firm commitment to increasing safety and wellbeing at work.
Our five star grading follows a score of 97.01% in our latest audit. The report stated: “There continues to be excellent OHSW practice at Rendall & Rittner, particularly in the areas of leadership, information management, and the management of contractors. There is significant evidence that the organisation is continually striving to improve, and this is supported by the awards and certifications already received.”
Mike Robinson, CEO British Safety Council, said: “The award of a five star grading following our occupational best practice Health and Safety Audit is an outstanding achievement and is reflective of a proactive organisation which is committed to continual improvement in its health and safety arrangements and managing risks to workers’ health, safety and wellbeing. Rendall & Rittner should be very proud of this achievement.”
Sue Petri, Director at Rendall & Rittner, comments: “Ensuring the health and safety of everyone involved in our business has always been a key consideration in everything we do, as well as ensuring the properties we manage are safe and well maintained. Through our policies, processes and training, we are continually striving for improvement and receiving recognition from the British Safety Council and the ISO accreditations provides external confirmation that we are maintaining the highest standards. We would like to thank our people for their commitment to ensuring that we continue to operate at this five-star level.”
